Why Use Us?
Are therapist required to be a part of equipment evaluations? No, they generally are not required, but beneficial to the process. Depending on the insurance, Assistive Technology Professional (ATPs) are required to be a part of the evaluation process and must be employed by the DME provider. While many ATPs are excellent, they do not have the medical experience, background, or knowledge that therapists have. However, we work closely with the ATPs using our medical knowledge and their equipment knowledge to help determine the most appropriate equipment.
Benefits of a therapist involvement
Improving the likelihood of approvals
Our therapists have Master's and Doctorate degrees in their respective fields. With over 15 years of experience, each therapist has excelled in their field. We use our knowledge and experience to determine which equipment will work best for you. Unlike the ATPs from the DME companies, we are not getting paid on the equipment we recommend. We are unbiased in our recommends. We consider your needs, home set-up, and what functional limitations we determine during our evaluation. We will only recommend what we believe is appropriate for the patient and that the family is willing and able to use. While there are many things available with all the bells and whistles, not all the things may be necessary, add extra costs, and take up more space within the home.
We have years of experience writing letters of medical necessity. We are able to our medical knowledge and expertise to write exceptional letters to justify the equipment for you or your loved ones. We work closely with the ATPs to the ensure each component is necessary and justified.
